Of making a sculpted doll head

This weekend I spent in Berlin again. Not only because I like this city so much – which I do – but mainly because I was participating in the “FKK” – No, not what you’re thinking now! Tsss…
FKK in this case stands for the “FilzKopfKurs”: a doll head needle felting class of dollmakers Mariengold and 1000Rehe teaching who to make sculpted doll heads.
And I was one of the lucky ones who were to participate in this class.

This was the second time Laura and Maria teaching this kind of class, which by the way, is based on their e-book “Charlie Bo”.
Back in this summer I already attended a doll sewing class of Maria, in which this little boy was created. Therefor this time I was really looking forward to seeing Maria again and meeting Laura. These two are not only two very experienced doll makers

– who can look back on many years of experience in dollmaking and teaching classes but also convey their knowledge, always offering new tips and patiently answering every question concerning dollmaking – But most of all they are two really great people.
Maria and Laura are also a pretty good team teaching and therefore the class was as good as I had it expected to be. Also my fellow dollmaker classmates have contributed to the wonderful dollmaking experience – just because dollmaking in such good company is twice as nice … ;)

So if you would like to try making a needle felted doll head yourself (and maybe happen to be in Berlin) I can highly recommend taking this class.
If you can not make it there to attend this very special dollmaking class but still want to make a sculpted doll head, you at least should get the ebook.
